Dan Tarbuck is a composer, songwriter, artist and producer, based in London, UK.
He was recently interviewed by the Financial Times, for a two-part podcast series about the impact of AI music, particularly on production music and the composers who create it. Listen to episode 1 here and episode 2 here.
Dan has composed for a variety of bespoke projects, including the DP World Tour and The Feather Speech Campaign (see below). He also writes regularly for numerous production music labels, including Universal, Sony ATV/EMI, KPM, Juice Music, Music House, Cavendish, West One Music, BMG, IMG, Zero Point Productions and Bleach Music; see below for examples. He has worked alongside renowned composers Michael Price, Stu Roslyn and David Arnold.
Dan writes, records and performs regularly with Szou, a female-fronted indie electro-pop band. Their single, “Thinkin’ Bout“, which Dan co-wrote, co-produced and performed on, was broadcast three weeks in a row on Future Pop on BBC Radio 1 in September 2024 (presented by Mollie King).
His debut single, “Get Up“, was hand-picked by BBC DJ Tom Robinson and broadcast on BBC Radio 6 Music as part of The BBC Introducing Mixtape. This was followed by the release of his self-produced debut EP, “Don’t Wanna Wake” (released under the name Tarbuck & Skelly).
Dan is also a sought-after keys player, recording and performing frequently with So Toto (the Toto tribute band), Szou (see above), Ruby Duff and others.
